Where's the Love? Wednesday - Nana Hilda's moon
The love today is in a sweet memory I always want my girls to remember.
When I had just found out that I was pregnant with Emma, my dear mother in law was fighting her battle with cancer and left us to go to Heaven when Ava was just 7 months old.
On the night that she died, the moon was in a crescent shape and was shown to us just moments after she had passed. It was a happy face crescent moon. And an hour or so after we saw it, it was gone. Like it was her way if telling us she was okay and not to worry.
So everytime the moon shows its shadow and beautiful outline of a smiley face, my husband and I make it a point to show the girls and tell them that it is their "Nana Hilda's moon." Which in turn, allows her memory to live on in a beautiful way.
What is also super special is that the girls are starting to get birth marks which we call "angel kisses." Angel kisses that their Nana Hilda gives them as she watches over them in Heaven.

Where's the Love? Wednesday
Where's the love? Well, this week has been a toughie. Our truck got hit while parked, pesky bugs were found that our home inspection agency missed when we bought our house, and Ava has two cavities.
Yikes!
So the love lies in my faith. My trust in God that He will provide and that everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay. We are all healthy and that is what matters.

Where's the Love? Wednesday: Crafty Kids
What I'm loving this week?
I'm loving how crafty my girls are. From tiaras, cut outs of random shapes from their Melissa and Doug scissors (awesome! They don't cut hair), to beautiful watercolor paintings.
They spend at least an hour a day at the kitchen table making masterpieces. Ava enjoys it so much she sits there much longer than Emma, who will draw for a while and then tend to her babies.
What else am I loving? Our chore chart. I bought a chalkboard on clearance wayyy before I had kids because I had grand dreams for it. Not for a chore chart. Not sure for what. Anyways, we painted and decorated it together and enforced it from the start. The thrill for all kinda dropped off shortly after until yesterday.
And I was at my wits end trying to get them to listen and eat all of meals. So I brought it back out and put the following chores:
* Pick up toys
* Feed animals
* Brush hair/teeth
* LISTEN!
And so far today they remembered it and have been anxious to get their 'marks.'

Happy Wednesday! I'll get straight to it for this week's edition of "Where's the Love?" courtesy of Miss Abby from Akers of Love. This month she's been doing a month of adoption posts and I have really enjoyed all of them.
This week I am LOVING (like L-O-V-I-N-G, kissing in a tree and the whole sh-bang), pinterest.com. I've read here and there about bloggers that love it and 'pin' stuff and make the 'pins' and didn't really read into it. I didn't think I needed another Web site to check out, or, ummm... get overly addicted to.
And here we are! Addicted to pinterest.com so much that I started a new blog. So let's throw out the etiquette on self promoting, because I wanted to highlight the blog I started with my dear friend, Michelle, who invited me and got me addicted to the site. Our blog is called "Things Pinterest Made Me Do..."
You know you have a submission you want to post, don't ya?! :) Cookies, crafts, frames, funny sayings that made it to posters, dreams of your dream home, etc.

'Where's the Love?' Wednesday ... a NICU graduation
This past weekend I attended a NICU graduation event at the hospital that Ava was born at and spent most of the first five weeks (minus a week and a half that was spent at another hospital in the same network) of her life. This event is one of the most wonderful events I've attended and has been our second time. The first event we attended, Emma was just two and a half months old, making Ava just14 and a half months old. So we didn't get to play the games, get our hair braided, etc.

'Where's the Love?' Wednesday - Happy Birthday, my girls!
Today is a big day! As it will be for the rest of my life. It is the day that I said hello to my first born, Ava, the one that made me a mommy -- and it's also the day I said hello to my second born, Emma, the one that made me a mommy again!
My "Where's the Love?" Wednesday is just that. The date. July 27. The love in that date has so much happiness, love, kisses, hugs, balloons and lots and lots and lots of cake! It also shares a lot of memories of the two, very different, yet very traumatic delivers that I gave over the course of just ONE YEAR. In case you missed it, read about Ava's delivery here and here; and Emma's delivery here and here. Geez, I really like to keep the suspense, now don't I?
Today we will celebrate with birthday presents from us, cupcakes, balloons upon waking up and a fun filled day. Along with lots of things to cross off our do-to list for their birthday party on Saturday. We sing 'Happy Birthday' to each of them separately with separate cakes/cupcakes. And we will celebrate another healthy year has past and the two differences between our girls --- just one year, two hours and 18 minutes.

You (I) are (am) a winner!
YAY! I won my first prize from a fellow blogger. It's from Abby at Akers of Love. I'm not sure how I found her blog, but I did a while ago and used to/plan to continue participating in her "Where's the Love?" Wednesdays post editions. She is a Christan and has a little boy, I think, I little younger than Emma.

Where's the Love? Wednesday
Happy Wednesday! Where's the love, you may ask?!
Well... what I'm loving this week is my girls and well how they commute with each other. How Ava came make complete thoughts by herself and carry a long, long, long conversation about whatever is on her mind.
And how after pinching Ava, Emma understands and actually goes through the kiss-and-make-up (time-out and then kiss-and-make-up) motions. She may give her death stare, but she follows through.
I love that finally she understands that she did something wrong and will cry and cry in time-out, but will actually go and say "sorry" and kiss her sister.
I do not love the fighting. And I know it will be never-ending and that it's part of growing up and raising kids.

Where's the Love? Wednesday
Happy Wednesday! I'm bringing you the 'Blog-a-Day in May' edition of "Where's the Love?"
The love sleeps in my living room and eats in my kitchen. That little love was my first baby. She is the one that is never mad at me, rather she gets more upset with herself when I am mad at her.
The love this week (and everyday!) is our dog, Lucy. (Lucy Lou to be exact!) She is the girls' playmate, their huggable bear, protector, pretend horsey and best friend.
And yet, she never gets much appreciation these days with the girls around. But without her, I would have to vacuum and mop more often; I would have to teach my girls not to be afraid of animals; and I wouldn't have the best friend that I've had for the past seven years.
She is my Lucy. My black Labrador retriever that sheds like no other. But one that loves like no other.

It's 'Where's the Love? Wednesday!' Happy Wednesday!
The love comes from this video I saw this morning via Project Sweet Pea's Facebook page. It's a song about what happens in the NICU, which Ava lived in for the first five weeks of her life. This song as I listened made me cry and relive the beeping! All while Ava was busting a move to the beat of the song! What a blessing!

So the love in my girl. My 32 weeker. She is amazing and perfect!

'Where's the Love?' Wednesdays
Happy Wednesday!
Today's topic was found from a blog I read from time-to-time, That Wife which she talked about the Secret deodorant Mean Stinks campaign. She (Jenna) talked about how to "be nice behind someone's back." Mean girls, mean boys, mean grocery clerks, etc. reverse the meanness and be nice!
So the love on this beautiful Wednesday in sunny CA, is the Mean Stinks campaign.
Be nice to everyone. Say something nice to your neighbor or your favorite blogger. Show an example that can be picked up from everywhere.
I can only imagine what the world of middle school will be like when the girls get to that point. But I know I will have done my job by fighting those meanies.

Where's the Love? Wednesday
New thing I'm grabbing from Akers of Love blog I recently found through Enjoying the Small Things. It's called "Where's the Love? Wednesday" which I linked up to her blog last week and failed to do what I signed up for! I believe this will get me to blog more often .. take pictures and document them!
Where was the love today?
The love was at my grandparents house. The girls' great-grandparents. The love was in the living room amongst the crayons, coloring books, tiaras, hot-pink feather boas and the massive amounts of blankets... all surrounding my Grandma and the girls. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so no pictures were captured-- just memories that will go into my memory bank.
Hearing their laughter mixed in with my Grandma's laughter.. made my heart swell with love.

The love was at my grandparents house. The girls' great-grandparents. The love was in the living room amongst the crayons, coloring books, tiaras, hot-pink feather boas and the massive amounts of blankets... all surrounding my Grandma and the girls. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so no pictures were captured-- just memories that will go into my memory bank.
